Meet Sophia — our brave Slime Queen

Sophia is a beautiful 8-year-old girl, lovingly known as the “Slime Queen” in the Royal Children’s Hospital cancer ward. She adores making slime, dressing up, playing with makeup, and collecting Aphmau plushies.

Instead of enjoying a carefree childhood, Sophia is bravely fighting a rare blood cancer — T-cell lymphoma. Diagnosed at just 7 years old, she has already endured major surgery to remove a tumour from her chest and is currently undergoing exhausting chemotherapy.

Sophia still has a long road ahead. Her treatment will continue until June 2027, and ongoing chemotherapy has taken a heavy toll on both her physical and mental health.

Sophia is being raised in a single-parent household, with no extended family nearby for support. Her mum, a domestic violence survivor, is Sophia’s only primary attachment figure and source of comfort.

Her mum has been forced to juggle the impossible — caring for Sophia, supporting her 15-year-old son, continuing to work and holding their family together during this incredibly challenging time.

Sophia’s mum and brother are doing everything they can to stay strong for her — but they can’t do it alone.

We are raising funds to help ease the financial burden on their family, so Sophia’s mum can focus on what truly matters: being by Sophia’s side and helping her heal.
