Sophia's 4th Birthday Plan

Sophia turns 4 on 15 November 2014. 

She is giving up presents this year and asking  that the money you would have otherwise spent on a present for her be used as a donation towards her fundraising project.

This project is to ultimately raise $20,000 to enable clean water and hygenic sanitation for a school in the developing world eg. a well and toilet blocks at a school in Africa. The supply of clean water and access to hygenic sanitation can have a dramatic impact on many aspects of the lives of those at the school.

Hi everyone,

I'm Sophia. I want you to get me no, no, no presents please.

Some people around the world have to drink dirty, yucky water - yuk!

And it makes them very, very, very sick. They might get sick and they might have a fever.

I'm raising money to build a well for a school so they can have clean water to drink like this.

(Written explanation that Sophia's parents and grandparents have agreed to quadruple all of the money she raises through her birthday, to a maximum of $2,500 from birthday gifts).

If you give me $20, the well gets $80.

Give me money (please!) so we can get this clean, yummy water for people less fortunate than us.
