My name is Hung Mai, a dear childhood friend of Brian Logan, and I am here to raise money to support the Logan family in their crucial time of need. Sophia Logan, their 13-year-old daughter, was diagnosed with extreme acute scoliosis. Scoliosis is a sideways curvature of the spine, and in Sophia's case, it was so sudden and severe (81 degree spinal curvature) that it required immediate surgery and continued long term physical therapy.
The medical expenses for the surgery were very high, and those expenses coupled with costs associated to the recovery have put the Logan family in great financial hardship. Jessica, Sophia's mom, had to take unpaid leave to be with Sophia at the hospital and at home, providing months of post-surgery home care because Sophia was unable to walk. Brian and Jess have tried to remediate the situation on their own, however the burden has become so great, to the point that they agreed to let me ask for help.
I'm asking that friends and family contribute anything they can to help this wonderful family. Sophia was a cheer leader and dancer before her surgery. She continues to battle through rehab with the goal of getting her quality of life back. Although surgery for the primary curvature was a success, the secondary curvature is being managed with a brace and physical therapy. If that is not successful she will be looking at additional surgeries in the future.
The Logan family is in need of your support as they go through these medical challenges. We appreciate any amount of contribution because your donation will make a difference in their lives. I also ask that you donate soon, as bills continue to accumulate.
I thank you for taking the time to read this. I hope you please consider sharing this post so that we can get Sophia back to living life like how a 13-year-old should!
God bless.
