Here's a note from my daughter:

Hi, my name is Sophia and I'm fundraising for my trip to Prague. I'm on the Canadian Team for Jazz and Contemporary Dance and I'll be competing at the Dance World Cup in Prague from June 27 to July 7, 2024. I will be using the funds to pay for my flights, hotel, food, and other travel costs for my trip from Vancouver to Toronto (where I'll be staying to rehearse with the team) and Prague ( where I'll be staying for 12 days while I compete) and then back home to Vancouver. Did you know that the Dance World Cup is the second largest sporting event in the world after the Olympic Games?? How amazing is that? They are expecting over 9,000 athletes this year. I am humbled and honoured to get to represent Canada. I've had a passion for dance since I started dancing at 4 years old. I'm super excited to dance and compete in Prague. To me, dance is a universal language - no matter what genre you like the most - even babies like to move to music. I'm truly grateful for this incredible opportunity and I appreciate everyone who is helping me along the way. THANK YOU!!!

ps. more about me - I'm 15 years old, I'm a grade 11 IB student, and when I'm not dancing I enjoy hanging out with my new puppy, skiing in the winter, and going to the beach in the summer. Thank you for helping me on my journey!
