On Wednesday 18th June (39+2 weeks pregnant) we arrived at the hospital at 0721 for our planned section ready to start our lives as a family. However by 0743 this wasn’t meant to be as she didnt have a heartbeat, our little girl had passed away just a few hours before
We were taken straight to the butterfly suite. The room was en-suite, double bed for parents, kitchenette, sofas, tv & a nursery for baby.
Medication was started to induce labour and our little was born sleeping Friday 20/06/2025 @02:38 our beautiful little princess You are so loved, mummy & daddy will always love you, our little girl
After Sophia was born we were able to tuck her in a cold cot (these come from Abigail’s footsteps). There a wooden refrigerated cot, able to keep baby at a low cool temperature so we got to spend as much time with our little girl as we could. These cost £3000, but are vital in giving extra time and providing cooler temperatures (compared to the blue box cuddle cots you may have seen).
Royal preston hospital are currently in the process with donations refurbishing the room next door to turn into another Berevement room. We would love to raise the money to put a cold cot in there with Sophia’s name on. Along with other funds raised to go to Baby Beat (the hospital charity) to fund the renovation of the new room.
We would also like to thanks 4Louis, Aching Arms & Simba for the memory boxes. In which the midwives were all fantastic from helping us take footprints, locks of hair. Along with the Baby Beat photographer who took photos of us doing this, bathing her, changing her and the 3 of us as a family. There was all this and so much more and we can’t thank the midwives enough
We will be organising an event in the near future but for now untill we meet again princess
