Sophia Foster Parchment

This fundraiser is on behalf of Sophia Foster Parchment, who lives in Jamaica and is battling Chronic Kidney Disease. Since GoFundMe does not currently support direct withdrawals in Jamaica, all funds are being withdrawn in Canada by Romaine Clarke, who is managing the transfer of every donation directly to Sophia for her medical care.

In January 2025, our beloved Sophia Parchment was diagnosed with Chronic Kidney Disease (CKD)—a diagnosis that has brought major changes to her life. At just 50 years old, Sophia now requires dialysis twice per week, with each session costing $15,500 JMD. That’s over $124,000 JMD per month, a cost that is simply unmanageable without help.

Sophia’s health journey has been long and difficult. In 2019, she suffered a stroke that affected her quality of life, and now, with this new diagnosis, her strength is being tested once again. Her doctors believe that her kidney condition is genetic, making her fight even more complex.

Through it all, Sophia remains a devoted Christian, holding firmly to her faith. She is a loving mother of four, a woman of deep compassion and strength, who has always put others before herself. She’s the kind of person who prays for others even in the middle of her own storms.

Now, Sophia needs our support more than ever.
