Sophia and Patrick Need Your Help

Today - Christmas morning - Patrick the Beagle and his dog mom Sophia were severely injured by a hit & run driver. They were taking a walk together at the beginning of Christmas Day. Before that awful moment, they were planning to open presents, go to a Christmas church service, and spend a relaxing day with friends. Instead, they were left on the ground, hurt, bleeding, and screaming for help.

Sophia is in the hospital right now with a serious back injury, and Patrick is in an emergency room for his injuries. He is suffering from a traumatic rupture within his abdomen with his intestines herniated, and a fractured ilium in his pelvis with some apparent nerve damage to his tail. He is currently sedated and being kept warm while Caroline is working the phone to get enough funds together for his surgery, which he must have in order to survive. Right now, it will take at least $10,000 to get him the surgery he needs. He needs abdominal surgery right away, with a chance that he will need pelvic surgery at a later date. The driver was located and arrested, but it’s likely they don’t have insurance or any other assets that could be used to compensate Patrick’s family for their expenses related to his care and Sophia’s lost income while she recuperates.
