Hi, my name is John. I was initially hesitant on doing this, but after much though I think my family and I really need some additional support during these hard times.

On January 24, 2024, my mom, Sopheap Duch passed away. Her time on this earth was a complicated and turbulent journey. From surviving the Cambodian Genocide, to moving to a new country so foreign to her at the time, she did whatever it took to survive and seek better opportunities for herself and her family.

She is truly a symbol of perseverance and strength. She laid the foundation which ensured her children's futures were nothing close to what she experienced back in the motherland.

She leaves behind a legacy of two children who are navigating what it means to be first-gen Cambodian Americans.
