SoothiStrips: Textured Bandages for Sensory Needs

It all started in a classroom.

As two special education teachers we (Christy Combs and Truth Faddis) have spent countless hours supporting children with Autism, anxiety, ADHD, and other sensory processing disorders. Every day we saw how something as small as a bandage could turn into a huge struggle.

Many students can't tolerate traditional bandages. The textures are wrong. The feeling is too smooth, too itchy, too irritating. When wounds aren't covered or when kids pick and scratch to self-soothe healing becomes harder. All of these factors led us to realize this is a large problem that has not yet been solved.

This led us to create SoothiStrips (Patent Pending).

SoothiStrips are the first bandages designed with sensory relief in mind. They're protective like regular bandages, but with a twist. The surface is gently textured to provide tactile input that calms, distracts, and regulates. It’s a subtle fidget, a soothing surface, a patch of comfort in a moment of discomfort.

Our dream is to bring SoothiStrips to classrooms, homes, therapy centers, hospitals, and everyday life. To offer a product that meets people where they are. Whether that’s a scraped knee, a skin-picking habit, or a moment of anxiety.

With your support, we can launch this product we wish had existed for our students, for ourselves, and for the families we care about. SoothiStrips were born from compassion, built from experience, and designed to bring comfort to every feeling.
