For the past 15 years, I have passionately raised funds for the American Heart Association and my WHY has always been my sister, Sonya Marshmon. She has been battling heart disease for many years. Sonya appeared to be a healthy 27 year old with a 3 month old son. While on a weekend trip to the beach, she began feeling strange and the trip was cut short. She was diagnosed with Arrhythmogenic Right Ventricular Cardiomyopathy. Then 7 years later, she it progressed to Congestive Heart Failure but had been medically stabilized for the past 15 years.
However, this April, after recovering from COVID-19, her heart’s function declined to a critical stage requiring the need for a heart transplant.
This year in lieu of raising funds for the American Heart Association, I am asking that you help us raise money for her heart transplant journey. She is facing a lifetime of medication, treatment and hospital visits. The cost will be significant and your generous donations and on-going prayers and support are very much appreciated.
