Sonya Sofia’s car fund

Hi, my name is Melinda Macy and my husband and I are fundraising for a 20 year old Ukrainian refugee who has been living with us since August. Sofia Raroh fled her hometown of Kharkiv in April of this year, and we are providing her 4th home since she’s been here in San Diego. She is studying online at a university in Kharkiv to be a professional coach. She is a former member of the Ukrainian National Gymnastics Team and now is working as a coach for little girls via zoom in the Ukraine. She has some odd jobs here since she’s still waiting for her work permit in the U.S., which she’s expecting anytime in the next few months. We helped her attain her driver’s license and she’s been practicing driving with us ever since, but she does not have sufficient funds for her own vehicle. It would help her tremendously to have a car, so once she has her work permit she can drive to and from work.

Justin and I ask that you please donate whatever you can spare so she can get on her feet, and to make her transition to independence a little easier in this very expensive town.
