I've known Sonny over 10 years. We met when he was playing at Cariera's Restaurant. Some of you know Sonny from his time in the band "Box Tops" or the "Ferguson Brothers". Others, only from him playing at my birthday party last year.
Sonny had gastrointestinal cancer 7 years ago and beat it. It has come back, and due to COVID-(19, selective testing was shut down. Tests weren't done til May to discover that the tumors were back and growing fast. Surgery is not an option. The doctors are putting him on Gleevec (a form of chemo) to try to shrink the tumors.
Meanwhile, neither Sonny nor Melissa have been able to work. He is eating very little, is weak and losing weight.
The fund me is to help them thru this difficult time financially. He needs to concentrate on getting better, not the money situation. Any amount will be appreciated.
