Sonja is A Nurse in Need of Nursing
Donation protected
Hi. My name is Nicole and my good friend, Sonja (pictured above), is in need of help with a life threatening situation. I met Sonja several years ago and was immediately drawn to her warm heart, clear presence and playful sense of humor. She has an ever present willingness to be of service to anyone in need, even the homeless in her neighborhood. Now, Sonja is in need of support and care as she navigates serious illness.
Sonja has had medical complications all of her life due to genetic malformations in her stomach which were exacerbated by the stresses of an unstable childhood. At age 16 she had surgery that unfortunately included severing her vagus nerve, the major internal communication pathway from the brain to the gut, without Sonja’s knowledge or consent. And so began a domino effect of additional health issues that Sonja has had to manage ever since. This has progressed to almost complete pancreatic failure (pancreatitis) due to scarring from chronic pancreatic inflammation. The average lifespan for people with chronic pancreatitis from the time they get diagnosed is 15 to 20 years. Sonja was diagnosed 10 years ago but had symptoms far longer.
Sonja has been met with a frustrating string of ineffectual conventional doctors. When one specialist was unable to come up with a solution for Sonja’s pain, she would be referred to another specialist. This meant no one was consistently tracking her symptoms or producing a cohesive team to think outside the box of standard medical treatment.
But there is hope. Realizing she was not getting anywhere taking the conventional medical path, Sonja started an anti-inflammatory diet and began researching alternative medical treatments. The most promising are:
- Ozone therapy (currently has received and is helping)
- Hyperbaric chamber treatments
- Stem cell replacement
- IV vitamin therapy
All of these treatments have the potential to reduce Sonja’s pain and extend her life expectancy. Sonja has alternative doctors for each of these treatments, none of which is covered by insurance.
Sonja is a single mother without an extensive family and needs our help to pay for current medical bills and the alternative treatments listed above. It’s never easy to ask for help which is why I am doing it on behalf of our dear friend. We all know what it’s like to be in pain. We all know what it’s like to wake up in the middle of the night and be gripped by fear and uncertainty. If you are in a grounded state in your life at this moment and have the means, I humbly invite the opening of your heart in compassion for a fellow human in need and hope you will consider contributing to this fund for Sonja’s medical treatments. Anything helps and is greatly appreciated.
In gratitude and love, may I transmit Sonja’s blessings of thanks to each of you.
