Sonia's G.B experience at the world Championships 2025.

Hi, my name is Sonia Roberts, I was diagnosed with Breast Cancer in May 2021. Following diagnosis I found a passion for dragon boating and joined Pool of Life, Breast Cancer Survivors team. Despite working full-time as a Nurse, I'm determined to make my mark on the water and not allow my diagnosis to get the better of me & win.

My recent performances have shown that hard work & determination pays off—I'm proud to say that following recent trials during March 2025, at Silverwing Lake Nr Staines. I am one of the first breast cancer survivor paddlers, that has been selected to compete in the World Championships, representing Great Britain. As part of the very First Breast Cancer Survivors dragonboat team in Brandenburg, Germany, in July 2025.

It's an incredible opportunity, and I'm very proud, excited and ready to give it my all.

Getting to the 17th International World Championships requires more than just hard work and talent—it also requires financial commitment.
