Our beloved Sonia Ivette Morales, passed away peacefully on November 29th, 2020. Sonia was a wonderful mother, sister, daughter, niece, cousin, devoted wife, community leader, and dearest friend who touched the lives of those around her.

Sonia dedicated her life to ensuring everyone around her lived to their fullest potential. Sonia absolutely loved her family so very deeply. She also shared that love to her friends and those closest to her. She was the life of the party and her contagious laughter and endless jokes made her presence felt anywhere she went.

Sonia was a natural host and when she purchased her first home she welcomed everyone with open arms. To Sonia this home was a haven to her family and friends. Sonia loved her new home and wanted all of her friends and family to feel like that was their home too. That’s the kind of self-less person she was. Sonia was a planner and  loved to have friends and family over for all occasions whether it was birthdays, game night, cookouts, holidays, engagements, etc. she always wanted to make sure everyone felt special and celebrated.

Sonia achieved so much in her short time on this earth. She was not just a goal setter, but a goal achiever. Education was important to her and despite being a teen mom Sonia overcame many obstacles to obtain her Master’s Degree so that she could set an example for her 3 daughters and her siblings. Sonia was the epitome of achieving anything that you want in life as long as you worked hard and stayed on track.

Sonia devoted many years of servicing the youth of Lawrence in various capacities. She was an advocate to teen mothers and at-risk-youths where she strived to provide services to improve their lives. Many of those who worked with Sonia in the community know that she was a dedicated worker and committed to bettering the lives of those less fortunate.

We are all devastated by the unexpected loss  and want to give Sonia the memorial service she deserves, to honor her memory and say our last goodbyes. We are currently asking for donations to help cover the cost of these expenses. Any donation or share will be greatly appreciated.

Thank you so much in advance,

Sonia’s family and friends.
