Sonia Bernier from Finance

With the permission of my friend Sonia Bernier, I am sharing an update on her health as the news is not positive at this time.

You may have had communication either in person or by email for your petty cash, visa statement, per diem for courses, or travel statement. Sonia was always there to help.

She is battling cancer, her biopsy wasn’t positive, therefore her next round of chemo treatments will be the determining factor if a transplant will be needed. She will be spending the next few months at the General. She is a single parent of 4 beautiful daughters. The chemo makes her dizzy, nauseated and tired. Therefore, she can’t drive herself to hospital, her daughters don’t drive either.

I would like to say thank you to Jodie Davis, Kyla Hyppolite and Nathalie Zili in Finance for stepping in and driving her to appointments when needed. Sonia told me you are a huge help.

With the financial challenges and burden, a GoFundMe page has been set up to help her and her daughters during this difficult time.
