My name is Diana Darr and I am the co-founder of Nashville-based Songs for Heroes (501c3). We connect Songwriters with Veterans & First Responders (Heroes) in Nashville and across the country to provide them with music therapy by telling their life stories through song. We do this at no cost to the Heroes we serve.

This year, we are pairing 10 Songwriters with 20 local Nashville-area Heroes Nov 6th & 7th at NSAI, and ending with a public show on Nov 8th at American Legion Post 82 where the songwriters will perform all 20 songs they wrote over the course of the two days.

Our past participants have shared their stories of survivors guilt, losing friends on the job, clinging to faith during adversity, their battles with PTSD and more. These men and women are proud to have served their country, but were left with invisible scars that they've carried with them throughout their lifetime that our program helped them put to words.

While we are grateful for our in-kind donors, we still have a bit to go to reach our monetary goal to cover this event in full.
