Songs of Light Recording Fundraiser

Hello everyone! As many of you know, I have been in contact with Jack Hughes, director of the Northern Film Orchestra about having my four movement song cycle "Songs of Light" professionally recorded, and mixed. Due to the length of the work, the time it will take to record, and the forces required, this will be an expensive project. Estimates are currently around the £10’000 mark but I'm hoping to have a buffer of £1000 in case there is any bumps in the road.

Getting this song cycle recorded properly with a real orchestra, and choir would help me immensely in acquiring more commissions in future, and really give my music a better foundation to be presented. I would be so so grateful to anyone interested in helping a freelance composer!

Orchestras and choirs are made up of a great many people, all who need to be paid for their time and efforts.  If I'm to have any hope of getting this recorded in the near future I definitely need to rely on kind donations!

This project was a real labour of love between me, and poet Euan Tait who generously wrote four beautiful pieces for me to set. It would be a dream to get this cycle recorded so that I can submit it along with the score to various orchestras and directors who may be looking for new music. Demo recordings only say so much, and only go so far.

I would be most grateful for any and all donations, and cannot wait to make a dream come true!
