Britain has a long and proud history of using song to protest against injustice. 'Songs of Hope and Resistance' will shine a spotlight on some of these but also feature resistance songs from further afield.

Filament will tell the stories of some of the people behind the songs, or who were a part of a bigger movement which brought on social change. From the Diggers movement which believed in cultivating common land, to songs appealing for reforms to exploitative industrial practices, to songs being sung now to shine a light on current issues, this show will be part gig, part classic storytelling.

We're at a critical stage in the creative process and we need your help to ensure we can invest time now in a new phase of Research and Development. In November, we hope to have a week of writing, making and singing, and we'll make a short promotional film to help us get the show out to organisations and venues who might work with us in the following phases.

We need to raise £2,750 to do this. Anything you can give us toward this goal will help enormously and anything we raise above this amount will go towards our next period of development.
