Mo' Better Mobility Fundraiser

If you looked up the definitions for fierce, resilient and loyal, you would see the picture of our Delta Soror, Sisterfriend, Ride or Die — Adrienne Holley. In an effort to give our sister the opportunity to live the fullness of her life, we are raising funds to make her home wheelchair-accessible. This endeavor will include installing a ramp and constructing a wheelchair-accessible doorway.

Although this is a critical need, it is not something that Adrienne herself identified. The idea originated with Roy Thompson, her friend of 40 years and a Delta Gent. Two other friends & Delta Gents, Hal Wilkerson and Peter Smith, joined in and recruited her sorors and friends to help make it happen. After consulting with her town office and contractors, they were able to outline the project and costs for labor and supplies.

As we can all attest, Adrienne is one of the most generous people on the planet. She gives unselfishly and above and beyond to her friends, loved ones and community. As an elementary school educator for over 20 years in Bedford- Stuyvesant, NY, she touched the lives of her students by believing in them, investing in them, and uplifting cultural pride.

Although she no longer teaches, we launched this fundraiser in September (back to school) as a nod to Adrienne — a dedicated and exceptional educator. Please join us in the spirit of generosity and love to make this project a reality by contributing what you can. With your support, we can make Adrienne's home wheelchair-accessible, enhancing her mobility and improving her quality of life.

We wish you Peace and Fierceness … XOXOXO
