"The Rest of Us" in support of Pride in London
About this project
In support of Pride in London 2017, Dorian Reland, London based recording artist, has written a song to be recorded and released in support of Pride in London for 2017 titled “The Rest of Us”. Teaming up with Ian Massa-Harris-McFeely, executive Producer for Pride in London, they aim to release a song giving a voice to the LGBT community and their allies, promoting local talent on the London scene and celebrating the 5 years of Pride in London. The single will be recorded by local artists involved with Pride in London over the years or freshly arrived on the scene, with all sales proceeds to go to the organisation and help support the event.
To keep this a community project where you can get involved, all steps of the project such as rehearsals and recording will be published on a Facebook Page created for the occasion. We will also run an online competition for the artwork to be used when releasing the song. The adventure will result in the release of the single before Pride day and a live performance on Trafalgar Square on Pride’s day where you can join us and sing along to the song you helped make happen!
Why crowdfunding?
Pride in London is a major event for LGBT people and allies taking place all across London on the 8th of July 2017. It is a non profit organisation and the event is mostly sponsored with an allocated budget to keep making this day free for all and accessible so all of you can join the fun and celebration. In order to keep it that way, we are asking for your help in making this project happen. We promise to create something that is inclusive and helps set the tone for this magical day.
Costs breakdown
This song will be recorded in London and will involve over 20 artists. This means that multiple recording sessions will need to take place on top of the track production, mixing and mastering. All artists are donating their time, including the songwriter and coordinators. The only costs consist in studio time. We estimate the whole project to take about 30 hours to complete, meaning that we need to raise £1000 by early June for the track to be made in optimal conditions.

We really hope to create a track you will love but here are a few extra incentives:

- £10 and more: on top of the thank you post, you will get a free download of the song
- £20 and more : on top of the thank you post,
you will also be invited to one of the many studio recording sessions or rehearsal for the main performance (offer limited to the first 20 pledges)
- £100 and more: on top of the thank you post, you will get 2 Pride in London Trafalgar Square Backstage passes and hospitality for the full day (offer limited to the first 6 pledges)
