Song For Ukraine - Zelensky's Golden Crown
Donation protected
Update from Lviv, 10th May 2024. The concert in PortLaoise was off the scale and the Choir were amazing and we also raised monies for a Ukrainian Charity in the process. Your generosity covered the fuel my trip, and there is enough in the pot to cover a good chunk of what is needed for the Musical Instruments to be driven over, and we are hoping to fill a Transit. We already have everything from drums to accordions, and from bodhrans to fiddles. Thanks again so much.
This trip to Ukraine to deliver three pick ups was sponsored by a Ukrainian Charity. Any funds raised here will go exclusively to projects organised be me, so thanks again. Sean
Hi there, I have written a song for Ukraine to the tune of traditional Irish song 'The Star of the County Down' in an attempt to keep the Ukraine struggle in peoples minds. The song has been played on Ukraine Free Radio and the President himself is following me on Facebook, as is the Parliament. The Malva Ukrainian Choir made up of Ukraine refugees based in PortLaoise in Ireland, have asked me go over to perform a concert with them at the end of April.
Further to this I would like to be able to drive over to Ukraine with many musical instruments to distribute to schools and also to perform the song both with the children, but also for the people, along with many more Irish folk songs.
Any funds raised will go towards travel and accommodation, I will also be looking to loan a van, and appealing separately for second hand instruments from my readers and others. I'm so pleased that the song is being enjoyed already but between us we can all spread the word to help these brave people. Sean x
I will be travelling to Portlaoise in Southern Ireland from my home in Galloway, and then driving across to Kiev in the Ukraine via Dumfries and Manchester to pick up the donated instruments. Please find the video here: https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=JrjWfdUXjTU
