Funeral Costs of Curtis Pinney
Donation protected
We were shocked by the passing of Curtis. He had fought so hard to make it to where he was and we are crushed to loose him like this. His treatments for his brain tumor had worked yet again but I guess this time his heart just couldn’t take the stress of the recovery. He passed away on the night of August 24th and we are humbly asking for help with his funeral costs if you are able.
Curtis Lee Pinney was born August 7, 1981 in Flint, the son of Vaughn Pinney and Laurie Hawkins. Curtis was an OEF and OIF combat veteran with 12 years of decorated service. He received 3 Army Commendation Medals and 5 Army Achievement Medals. After exiting the Army, Curtis continued his service by trying to help other struggling veterans through brotherhood and camaraderie. Curtis's heart belonged to his son Spencer, his love for his country, love he had for other brothers and sisters at arms, and rugby. The community he found on the pitch was a driving force to overcome his health struggles along with the loving relationship with his son Spencer now 7. His strength was always driven from doing what he could to contribute. For the club or for his fellow brothers in arms. His presence will be sorely missed.
Curtis is survived by his son, Spencer Jack Pinney; mother, Laurie Hawkins; sister, Leanne Brown; stepfather, Kenton Hawkins; stepsister, Megan Hawkins; nephew, David Brown; Spencer's mother, Samantha Forsyth; Duane and Terri Forsyth; close friend, Josh Barrett; and many extended family. He was preceded in death by his father, Vaughn and his grandparents.
