In loving memory of our father, Sonam (Sonny) Lhungay, we are organizing a group donation to Tibetan Children’s Village, an organization that was not only close to his heart but also a cause that reflected the values he lived by. Our father, a refugee himself, understood the power of resilience, community, and the importance of education. He was a compassionate man who brought joy to those around him with his adventurous spirit, mischievous smile, and deep empathy for others.
Tibetan Children’s Village is dedicated to providing Tibetan refugee children with a safe, nurturing environment where they can receive an education, healthcare, and a sense of belonging. The organization serves children who have fled conflict and displacement, many of whom have lost their families. At the Village, children are not only given the tools to succeed academically but also the support they need to heal emotionally, preserve their cultural identity, and develop into leaders in their community.
Our father passed away from stomach cancer, but his legacy of joy, laughter, and fully living life continues to inspire us every day. He lived with grace, and his unwavering commitment to helping others left a lasting impact on everyone who knew him. We hope to honor his legacy and continue his commitment to helping those in need, just as he did throughout his life. The donation will provide these children with the opportunity to build brighter futures, just as our father always worked to create opportunities for those around him.
All contributions will be combined into a collective donation in his name. After the donation is made, we will share updates to show the impact of your generosity and how it helps support the future of these incredible children. Thank you for helping us celebrate our father’s life and carry forward his passion for service, joy, and compassion.
