Help for Matthew

My brother is very sick. Both he and my family need all the help they can get. Anything that can be given would be greatly appreciated. God Bless.

Matthew Layne Eldridge is chronically ill. He weighs maybe 70 lbs. at the most. He is surely and slowly leaving this life. We are trying to do everything we to can to keep him as comfortable as we possible. He has been traveling down this road for 5 years. He has an autoimmune disease, a connective tissue disease overlapped with scleroderma, it’s a disease that is hereditary. Then after this, he got histoplasmosis, which is what the doctors call a bird disease. Which for healthy people, it is easier to fight off, but due to his weekend immune system, it is very dangerous and hard to overcome. Then this past year, everything kicked into fast motion. In January, he had 2 surgeries on both of his arms, where he had one knot on each arm had that started to calcify gave him great discomfort. He had a hard time healing from the surgerys even though they were farily simple, due to him being malnourished. Next he started having trouble swallowing his food. On February the 14th, he had to have a food peg put into his stomach, to keep him from starving to death. Towards the end of Feb. we had to put him back into the hospital with the Covid, phenomena and a fungal infection in his lungs. This journey lasted until the end of March and we were back in the hospital again and they put him on the ventilator for 7 days. Then on April the 1st they put a trake in his throat, now he gets his food through his stomach and can hardly understand him, when he talks, making it hard to get him what he needs, when he needs it. He has been to so many different doctors, trying to fight this disease that he has had for the past 5 years. No one should have to suffer like has his has been doing for these past 47 days. He is a father of two great children, a son Jadon 20, and a daughter Jalee 14. They too have suffered and are suffering watching their father fight for his life. He stays with my parents Rudy and DeLane, and they work around the clock, looking after him and it is taking a heavy toll on them. It's all we can do, to get by day to day, but we know and trust in Jesus and he never fails us. Thank you.
