Bryan was on a business trip to the US when Vladimir Putin ruthlessly invaded Ukraine. The family’s small village Kozarovychi - Kyiv, just outside Kyiv, was violently attacked by Russians, causing Mira and the children to hide in a local bomb shelter. Unable to get gas or food. Finally, they were able to flee their village with their dog and cat and began the long and arduous travel to Poland.

Bryan cut his trip short and bought an emergency ticket from the US to Poland, and the family was reunited. But with 2.8 million refugees fleeing Ukraine, finding shelter is getting harder and their funds are running desperately low. They are trying to get the family to the US.
