The family of Sommer DeGrate is raising money to assist with Sommer’s families living expenses. Sommer’s husband is doing an amazing job of taking care of their five year old son. However, their financial struggles have been substantial. While he’s maintaining there are struggles due to becoming a single income household.
Our goal is to raise funds to assist in filling the gaps in the finances.

****Our Amazing Sommer DeGrate****
There are people in this world who help you realize just how truly amazing God really is.
My sister was one of those people. Sommer came into my life when she was 13, just a year younger than me. We got into the silliest situations and even in scary times, we laughed our way through it.
Sommer truly was our ray of sunshine. She gave kindness and love to everyone she met. She would give the food from her fridge and the clothes off her back to those in need.
As an adult, Sommer went through some rough times. With the love of her life (Johnny DeGrate) by her side, they focused on starting a family. Sommer’s road to motherhood was rocky, but by the grace of God their baby boy was born on January 24, 2014.
Sommer loved her husband, son, family and friends with her entire being.
***Sommer’s Battle with Behçet’s Disease***
In late April of 2017, Sommer Beth (Wisner) DeGrate was diagnosed with Behçet’s. A very rare autoimmune disorder that causes blood vessel inflammation throughout the body.
Sommer had many hospital visits, her condition caused rapid deterioration in the last two months; With her being hospitalized, her husband was unable to work and care for their five year old son.
After nearly a two year battle, Sommer earned her wings on Sunday February 3, 2019.
