SOMETIMES COLLECTIVE
Sometimes help.
Hey Friends, lend us your eyes. If you like what you read, perhaps a few dollars... ;)
We are opening a fully functional Artist Collective in Madison TN incorporating but not limited to: dance (private and small class), visual art (private studios, sculpture, woodworking, printmaking, small classes), event center and gallery space.
It's called Sometimes, welcoming artists of all diciplines to particate in creating something bigger than all of us.
details below.
The Goal: Sometimes simple.
Create a safe multifunctional space for local art of all mediums to grow and prosper while easing the burden on expenses for everyone.
Provide a space for dancers to dance without the requirements of belonging to a company.
Promote diversity in the arts while encouraging people from all walks of life to collaborate and express themselves in a safe and innovative environment.
Inspire and draw inspiration from the younger generation, guiding unique expression with zero pressure on what it becomes.
Ease the Financial Burden. Lets face it, the world is hurting. So in an effort to be as accessible as possible, we vow to always be the cheapest option. The only time we stray from Sometimes. Because this is not for profit, this is for Artists.
What is Sometimes: Sometimes this, sometimes that.
Sometimes will be a 4,500 square foot artist collective located in Madison, TN (right outside of East Nashville). Consisting of two main rooms, we will split focus between performance arts (front space) and visual arts (back space).
The performance arts space will be spearheaded by Marlee Yeate, a trained ballet dancer and certified yoga instructor recently returning to Nashville from her hometown of Wilmington, NC. Initial activities will range from private dance lessons, to small group classes, to morning yoga ritual.
The visual art space will be led by Ryan Noble-- a local mural artist/designer from Sarasota, Florida and a resident of Nashville for the past 5 years. Initial plans will be interchangeable art studio spaces for local artists suitable for all mediums. We will also start with small group classes in woodworking, printmaking, collage, and drawing.
COVID-19 Safe Place
We have all the regulatory documents on file and are taking every measure to build a space that is clean, safe, and respectful. If it's for your safety, it's our priority.
Why Sometimes?
Sometimes you want to create but it's so easy to justify not--be it no space, poor materials, lack of inspiration, no peace of mind from loud roommates, etc. An artist needs the right environment, and Sometimes life gets in the way of that.
We want to create a space that reflects the opposite of sometimes. Stability in a compassionate community. To flip the proverbial triangle so we can all balance for a second and look above to see all the opportunity. I will begin working on a detailed safety protocol to ease the current times and will implement them following Tennessee's demands avec a little more morality. We will probably throw in some other verbiage as we create our presence in the community and begin a marketing campaign. Between the two of us, we know we have plenty of friends and family that will support and ideally be a part of this cooperative.
Sometimes Remodel
This is happening. But we've got some overhead we need help with.
We're grateful to have family support and our own backings, but there are some remodeling aspects and art supply needs that require a little extra money.
If you are in the place to donate, your generous spirit will not go unappreciated.
All donations will be commemorated on our website and exterior wall once we are up and running.
Merci beaucoup!
Marlee and Ryan
