Sometimes Warriors Need Help Too

Hello from Bobbie (Kingsley).
My friend and classmate, known by the Alamosa High School Class of 1980 as Kami Lichtenburg, is currently battling her second round of cancer. Following her courageous defeat in the first battle, she was widowed. She had bounced back from the grief of his loss and was living a genuine “Kami” life that was filled with on stage performances, going on solo journeys to camp in her beloved mountains, and finding her ever-present optimism in all of her endeavors. If you know Kami; you’d swear that she has springs on her feet, as she’s always had a bounce in her step. If you know Kami, you know her smile and bubbly voice. If you know Kami, you’ve felt her love and respect for humanity, the marginalized, and that of her like-minded friends.
Kami has been corresponding with me since her latest diagnosis. She has had surgery to remove a tumor and is now undergoing chemo and radiation therapies. In typical Kami fashion, she placed her optimism and fight into her correspondence. However, in the last few days, she’s struggling with tasks that the vibrant takes for granted. A trip to the grocery store left her exhausted and needing to reevaluate her self-care plan. Kami is reaching out for help, and because I don’t want my dear friend to suffer needlessly, I’m asking you to help me help her.
Kami is needing to have food brought in, and to employ Uber or Lyft to transport her to and from therapy. When her local friends are unavailable, she will need a part-time housekeeper, and someone to run errands. The less she has to worry about, the more she can concentrate on this battle. Pennies add up to dollars, and dollars can multiply with just a few kind donations. Please consider helping my friend because I cannot imagine this world without Kami and her beautiful soul. I also ask that you share this so we can reach all who know Kami.
With gratitude and love,
Bobbie
