Hey Cuties und liebe Freund*innen,

Es fehlt wirklich nicht mehr viel, um den Film fertigzustellen. Ich sitze fast jeden Tag im Schnitt und sehe, wie alles langsam Form annimmt. Ich bin unglaublich dankbar für alle, die dieses Projekt bisher getragen, mitgedreht, unterstützt und daran geglaubt haben.

Ein paar Menschen wünschen sich vielleicht, dass ich scheitere – aber das werde ich nicht. Ich gebe nicht auf. Ich wünsche mir, dass wir gemeinsam diesen Film fertigstellen.

Dieser Film bedeutet mir wahnsinnig viel – und viele von euch haben diese Reise überhaupt erst möglich gemacht: eine Reise in eine Welt, in der queere und vielfältige Formen von Nähe, Identität und Menschlichkeit noch offen sind. Das ist leider längst nicht mehr selbstverständlich. Und wenn jemand sagt: „Es gibt doch schon genug solcher Geschichten“, dann frage ich: Habt ihr euch mal unsere Welt angesehen? Überall Krieg, Ausgrenzung, Hass – sogar auf Menschen, die einfach offen sind. Das können wir nicht zulassen.

Darum geht’s genau jetzt darum, weiterzumachen. Dieser Film ist nicht die Welt, aber ein kleiner Schritt zu etwas besserem und es fehlt wirklich nur noch ein kleiner Schritt, und wenn jede*r etwas beiträgt, ist der Film bald fertig.

Kurz gesagt: Wir sind in der Postproduktion und brauchen noch Unterstützung für fünf Tage Nachdreh, Sounddesign, Colorgrading und Schnitt. Im Vergleich zu anderen Projekten ist das nicht viel – aber ohne eure Hilfe kann ich diese letzte Etappe nicht schaffen. Ich arbeite jeden Tag, aber zwischen Schnitt, Organisation und all dem Drumherum ist einfach nicht genug Zeit und Budget geblieben. Ich brauche jetzt zum Schluss einen finanziellen Boost für den Film, damit all die Arbeit nicht umsonst war – und wir diesen Film endlich gemeinsam auf der Leinwand sehen können.

Worum es im Film geht:

Der Film handelt von allem, was Nazis hassen: tiefen Gefühlen, klugen Menschen mit Migrationshintergrund, queeren Personen, Frauen mit eigenen Meinungen – und von liebevollen, ehrlichen Begegnungen.

Er besteht aus drei ineinander verwobenen Episoden, die sich mit dem Gefühl des Verlassen werdebs beschäftigen. Drei Protagonist*innen erleben Verlust und gehen ganz unterschiedlich damit um. Im Zentrum steht Romina (Larisa Faber), die nach dem Tod ihrer Eltern ihrer Freundin Ioana (Maria Drăguș) nach Rumänien folgt. Ioana hat sich nach dem Tod ihrer Eltern zurückgezogen. Dort trifft Romina auf Alex, eine junge Frau, die ihren Vater verloren hat, aber eine beeindruckende Kraft und Vitalität ausstrahlt – etwas, das Romina neues Leben einhaucht.

Ich interessiere mich besonders für Geschichten und Figuren, die so noch nicht erzählt oder gezeigt wurden und habe echt viel in dieses Projekt gesteckt.

We’re so close to finishing the film. I’m in the edit almost every day now, watching how everything slowly comes together. I’m endlessly grateful to everyone who has carried this project so far — shooting with us, supporting us, and believing in it from the very beginning.

Some people might wish I’d give up — but I won’t. I’m not giving up. I want us to finish this film together.

This film means the world to me, and many of you have already made this journey possible — a journey into a world where queer and diverse forms of love, identity, and humanity are still allowed to exist. Sadly, that’s no longer something we can take for granted. And when someone says, “There are already enough stories like that,” I can only ask: have you looked at our world lately? Everywhere there’s war, exclusion, hate — even toward people who are simply open-minded. We can’t let that happen.

That’s why it’s so important to keep going — because this film might not change the world, but it’s a small step toward something better. And it really doesn’t take much more: if each of you contributes a little, the film will soon be finished.

To put it simply: we’re in post-production, and we still need support for five final days of reshoots, sound design, color grading, and editing. Compared to other films, that’s not much — but without your help, I can’t make it across this last stretch. I’m working every day, but between editing, organization, and everything else, there just isn’t enough time or budget left.

So what I need now is a final financial boost, to make sure all this work hasn’t been in vain — so we can finally bring this film to the screen.

What the film is about:

The film deals with everything that Nazis hate: deep emotions, intelligent people with a migration background, queer individuals, women with their own opinions — and loving, honest human encounters.

It consists of three interwoven episodes exploring the feeling of abandonment. Three protagonists experience loss and process it in different ways. At the center is Romina (Larisa Faber), who follows her friend Ioana (Maria Drăguș) to Romania after her parents’ death. Ioana has withdrawn into isolation, but in Romania, Romina meets Alex, a young woman who has lost her father yet radiates impressive vitality and strength — giving Romina a new sense of life.

I’m drawn to stories and characters that haven’t been told or seen in this way before. I’ve poured my heart and soul into this project, and I’m holding on — hoping it will all come together soon.
