Hi everyone, my name is Angel Songalia, and I am the grandson of my grandparents, Lynn Avergonzado and Danilo Avergonzado, who immigrated to NJ from the Philippines in the 90’s. On the morning of October 24, 2026, my grandparents’ home on the corner of Catherine St & N Gaston Ave burned down by a fire. As of right now, we do not know the cause of the fire until the fire department concludes their investigation. My grandparents lost everything; their clothes, their shoes, family heirlooms, stashed cash, family albums, documents, everything. All I ask is a small donation to help my family get back on their feet from this major setback. The funds will be used to purchase new clothing, shoes, food, essential everyday items, a temporary place to stay, and eventually towards a rebuild of the property. All funds donated will be directly benefitting my grandparents, I am not managing the funds for them. Fortunately, they do have homeowner’s insurance. Even if you don’t donate anything, sharing this post will mean so much to us.
