Somerset Pennsylvania Animal Hoarding
Caola’s Canine Rescue is a local nonprofit animal rescue raising funds for the 10 dogs I removed from a hoarding situation in Somerset County on May 5, 2026. Over 50 animals were removed from the property including 42 dogs, birds, a bearded dragon and a goat and taken to various local rescues and shelters from central and western Pennsylvania. After taking 10 dogs from the case, two local cat rescues, Project Meow and Nicole’s Furry Feline Rescue, stepped in to help ease my burden! Any funds raised will be shared with these rescues to help cover animal expenses. These dogs are all needing full vet care, dewormed, spayed and neutered, vaccines, wellness checks, bloodwork, etc. One female in my rescue is very likely pregnant (will confirm with my vet) but that also means more mouths to feed and vet bills in the near future. Please share and help us. We are solely donation based and cannot do this without the support of the community! These animals were living in DEPLORABLE conditions, running ramped in a single wide trailer while the “owners” lived in a camper in the back yard. You can’t even imagine the smell of this property, the inches of caked feces on the floor, the overwhelming smell of urine in combination with feces was intolerable and these dogs were living in these conditions day and night. Some of these dogs are still pups and from what I’m gathering, everything is new to them. Toys are foreign and unfamiliar, leashes and collars are terrifying, the concept of going to the bathroom outside is non existent. These dogs are requiring EXTREME amounts of work on our parts. Ten dogs needing full veterinary work ups and fixed will cost thousands and thousands of dollars. Please donate if you can and share this with your friends and family ❤️ we cannot do this without you!
