Some help for a mate
Donation protected
Hi, my name is Tim.
One of my very dear mates, and friend to everyone at Channel 9 - Luke Sloane, is in the fight of his life with brain cancer. He's been battling- mostly in silence for more than a year, and unfortunately, the prospects are now very grim.
When people talk about cancer, there are always the questions about "Can they cut the tumour out?", "What's the chemo like?", "What are the side effects?", "keep your chin up!" and "How long have you got to live?", but the thing that's rarely talked about is the financial strain. Cancer treatment is expensive!
Luke hasn't been able to work in a long time, and the stress of the ongoing monthly bills and mounting credit card debt is very real. Not to mention incoming funeral costs, mortgage payments, and what will be left for Luke's fiancé, Maddy, and of course his son Lachie, when the cancer inevitably takes hold.
Luke is many things - not only a great mate - he's the kind of bloke who'll do anything for anyone. A proud Dad, the happiest fella you'll ever meet and the absolute best bloke in the world. But when it comes to asking for a hand out - I'm here to say that's about the toughest thing you could get a bloke like Sloaney to say.
I've started this GoFundMe so that financial pressure isn't something he needs to worry about.
If you're reading this and you can spare some hard-earned dollars, flick them Sloaney's way and know that you're helping out someone very dear to me, and getting him and his family out of a real pickle - at a time when they need absolutely every bit of love we can muster.
Thank you!!
