Hi! We are the core team of the Barattolo Project,
whose goal is to encourage the exchange of knowledge between all creatives and creative fields, in a fun, cheap, and fair way. We are all students or recently graduated, and this year we will host the third edition of our small-scale creative festival Some Days Some Arts on a family farm in Tuscany, Italy.
Because we want our events to be accessible for everyone, especially students and creatives with a limited budget, we have been making this festival happen without paying our hard labor, and with minimal margin to fund future events. This is why we started this CrowdFunding!
With the money we raise, we want to:
- Create a savings pot for people who can't afford the full price to participate in Some Days Some Arts;
- Pay off our labor;
- Start a Barattolo Project foundation, which requires 600 to 1800 €.
How does our festival work?
Some Days Some Arts always takes place in Tuscany for two weeks during summer. The spacious organic farm that hosts us is home to the family of three of our founding members, and summer, with its warm and long days, is also the only time we can leave the cities where we study and work to make the festival happen. During the festival, all participants are welcome to stay on the farm for two weeks or less, and if they want, give a workshop to the others! In previous editions, we've had workshops about wool-spinning and plant dyeing, tango, paper making, cyanotype printing, analog photography, zines, capoeira, sewing with upcycled materials, bread making, and much more.
In addition, because we love food and we believe it to be an amazing way of connecting people from different backgrounds, we find it important that all participants eat together. Included in the stay are breakfast, lunch, and dinner, prepared by us with the help of our volunteers.
As you can see, this requires a lot of work and coordination from us and all participants to make things happen smoothly. So far, it's been a great pleasure and brought all of us enormous satisfaction! But our hard work would be worth nothing if it wasn't for the knowledge, understanding, fun, and creativity that every single participant brings. Some Days Some Arts is built in a way that the workload is shared by everyone based on what they can contribute.
Why fund us?
We find it important that people who recognize themselves in our ideals can participate, regardless of whether they can afford to pay for it or not. Ever since we started this project we have wanted to eventually offer free (or almost free) participation to those who need it, but we don't want to raise the prices for all other participants, as many of them are also students.
The prices to participate in Some Days Some Arts 2024 are:
- 15-25€ a day for volunteers;
- 17-27€ a day for workshoppers;
- 22-32€ a day for other participants.
Prices vary based on how one contributes, their financial possibility, and whether they sleep in a tent or one of the rooms available at the farm. With this money, we pay:
- The rent to stay two weeks on the farm;
- The food with which we cook three meals a day for all participants;
- The materials necessary for the workshops;

- Other events and workshops that we host during the year, mostly in Arnhem NL.
If you decide to fund us, your contribution will go first to the creation of a Barattolo Project foundation, then to the savings pots for our participants, and finally to pay the labor of us six, who constitute the Barattolo Project:
