Our Story:

Every human has, at one point or another, struggled with something in their life. They’ve felt alone and unseen. On their path to heal and grow, they’ve felt lost.
We’ve both experienced the same, and are here to create a space where humans come together to heal with deeply impactful tools.

In the past year, Marina and Tomer have been working on their big passion:
SomaShare, investing from their own savings and time into this incredible venture. This is a powerful app they have dreamt up that will help millions transform their mood and behaviors, all driven by trauma. This app’s main goal is to transmute black and white, us vs them thinking into inclusive, nuanced, and emotionally mature ways of being. The app is not only about individual transformation: it is about justice, community and the well being of all. In order to expand the app: make the app the best we can (fast, widely available, and approachable) and to reach the most practitioners and audience, we would absolutely appreciate your financial support!

Tomer and Marina have been on the healing and personal development journey for quite some time. Here are their stories…

Tomer:
Tomer has always been a curious child (he would take apart all electrical appliances and then put them back together since he was 5 years old), and loved to understand how things work, to observe others and analyze their behavior to help him empathize with people’s struggles and experiences.

He became an awesome autodidact: teaching himself programming and many other cool skills.

Even though programming can be conceived as something very technical and analytical (detached from emotion), Tomer loves to see programming as a lifestyle full of emotions, balance, and beauty, approached with an open heart. He believes this style of conscious programming can provide conscious solutions to the problems we have in the world.

When Tomer programs, he visualizes his code as a living, breathing being that has needs and emotions.

In his early 20s, Tomer became depressed after moving in with Marina. This transition forced him to face many childhood traumas and what helped him the most were somatic methods, working with his body through trauma, fear, and self sabotaging behaviors.

Since then, it became a routine that he incorporated into his life. It made him connect more to his spirituality and have a more open heart.

Tomer is particularly interested in the healing power of breathwork, since the very first time he tried it.

In the past few years, Tomer has been exploring the power of community, putting himself out there in order to be more centered, living in integrity, and fulfilled in life. Many programs that have somatic practices have helped him profoundly, and he wanted this healing to be accessible to the world.

Marina:
Marina got into the personal development world because her first business (a vegan food blog + nutrition coaching) was soooo stuck and she wanted to find some tools to move it forward. The frustration was sky high - she spent hours trying to figure out how to have the income and impact that she knew in her heart she could have, but wasn’t.

She felt like a total failure… many of you were around then, and you knew how hard it was for her.

Then, she found the personal development world. She would recite affirmations and listen to all these motivational speeches (sort of in secret, she was a bit embarrassed…) but still saw no change.

Everything exploded in her world when a coach finally told her that her “business is a trauma response”. That’s when she realized that in order to truly impact the world like she always knew she could, she needed to truly heal, on a profound level.

This is when Marina found the world of somatics - body based healing. She went to many years of somatic therapy, and started to study somatics herself.

It was fascinating, and profoundly healing! So much so that she created a multiple 5 figure business supporting people’s healing, and speaking about the impact of trauma on people’s lives. And of course, engaging in her own healing and transformation from a state of anxiety, freeze and constant overwhelm and into feeling fully alive and in touch with all her emotions.

Our Union:
Having done all this deep healing work, we knew that we needed to get this out into the world: because we knew the power of this work on an individual level, and also, no less important - a societal level.

During the latest world events: COVID, black lives matter, the Ukrain war, the Israeli government mess (all of which impacted our lives immensely and personally), one thing kept ringing true: it is time to end black and white thinking.

You might be asking yourself how the heck these things are related…

We found that the rigidity of human thought - “he is bad”, “they are the problem” - is at the heart and core of every human conflict.

Trauma is what creates this thinking: us vs them. Putting each other in small, impenetrable boxes. We are locked in, and can’t escape. There is hatred, walls, and eventually: loneliness.

Trauma is at the heart of homelessness (we used to bring food to the unsheltered community in San Diego), war, political upheaval. We heard it clearly when we sat down with unsheltered folks on the streets, their stories abound with heartbreaking moments of trauma that ripped their lives.

In our society, most of us aren’t taught what to do with our feelings, especially most men. This leaves us either closed off emotionally, or extremely reactive, as we merge with our emotions and can’t seem to stop them from taking over our expression.

Trauma also causes us to fear and isolate, and to have trouble relating, while community is actually one of the most healing spaces (something that was so missing for all of us during the last pandemic).

Trauma has been a big part of our individual stories, and it had a palpable impact on our relationship and businesses. We could feel it arise when we got reactive, or emotionally closed off.

We each went on a journey to get closer to our emotions in a way that allowed us to become responsive, not reactive.

What We Created
And so, we realized that if only humans could easily access the power of deeply healing practices that were gentle and safe: a major transformation would occur on an individual and societal level.

Humans would finally be able to feel fully alive. They would move from survival mode to boundless creativity. There is no end to what we can build when we truly thrive.

We wanted to create something that would get to the core of the struggles in society, and not just be a pretty cover that hides the real issues underneath.

This would involve the deeply healing tools we each have practiced, as well as a communal space.

We Come Together: SomaShare App
We decided to bring our forces together and create an app that integrated deeply healing practices that will help us achieve our mission of a trauma-informed society where people know how to process their emotions and take responsibility for their actions and lives.

Marina brought her coaching skills and connections to hundreds of incredible trauma-informed practitioners, and Tomer brought his powerful leadership, conscious programming philosophy and skills.

This is how SomaShare was born! SomaShare is an app that brings practical, easy to follow tools and a communal space to support people in deep healing and transformation.

Our Mission:
SomaShare is an app that brings practical, easy to follow tools and a communal space to support people in deep healing and transformation.

SomaShare was created to encourage a shift from black and white thinking into inclusive, nuanced and emotionally mature ways of being through practices like nervous system regulation, emotional healing tools and more, to create a resilient life.

We thoughtfully select the best practitioners: our goal is to create a trauma-informed platform that will never push individuals too far out of their comfort zone, or shame them for their pace of transformation. Instead, practices will challenge participants just enough to create powerful, integrated shifts in their ways of being.
