Despite contributing less than 0.06% of global greenhouse gases, Somalia is disproportionately one of the most climate vulnerable places on Earth, enduring intensifying droughts and severe flooding.

Around 6.4 to 6.9 million people lack sufficient access to clean water.

Severe drought followed by flash floods have destroyed crops, water infrastructure, and killed livestock, leaving Somalia’s many pastoralist communities especially vulnerable.

This Sunday 7th, one of us will be running ‘the big half’ to raise money to build a community well in Somalia and would love for you all to help get there. This is the cost of one community well through Muslim hands, and any donation, however small, will be greatly appreciated.

A community well will serve over a 1000 people and will provide access to clean water bringing immediate, life-saving change.

Remember that providing water to those in need is considered among the most noble acts of charity (Sadaqah jariya). May Allah accept it from us all!
