San Diego Flood Relief

Hi Everyone! My name is Emma, I am writing this on behalf of my mother & family.

I’m sure many of you have heard about the recent flood that ruined many homes & lives in the Southeast San Diego area. Unfortunately, my families home so happened to be one of the many homes affected. My mother is a single parent of 3, I can only imagine how she’s feeling knowing everything we once had is now gone. Anything that could have been salvaged, was contaminated by the sewer water, rescuers also said everything was a complete loss.

Although I am tremendously grateful we were able to make it out alive, I am upset over the losses we took. Many items were irreplaceable, they held memories new items could never create. I know we all go through hardships in life, but I would have never expected my family to be going through something like this. My community looks like a hurricane hit.

My family & I are raising money to help go towards replacing the necessities lost. We have no clothes besides the ones that we were already wearing, no shoes due to the amount & speed of water flooding in, which reached about 5feet high.
