2020 has been a helluva year for everyone. Folks have lost jobs, loved ones, and the ability to gather...
But when times change, we look forward to Nickie Bee and The Epicenter being there to welcome us back.
Our dear dance friend Nickie was diagnosed with advanced-stage cancer recently, which has taken quite a toll on her health and wellbeing. There aren't just medical bills - there's transportation costs to get to and from appointments, costs to renovate her home for accessibility, and that's just to start. We want Nickie to feel as comfortable and stress-free as possible while she fights for her health, so that she can come back and continue to support the dance community with her presence, art (see below - Fungully!), and volunteerism as she always has. Let's show Nickie how grateful we are for everything she is by sharing some boss tunes and throwing in some cash!
The Epicenter - an industrial warehouse music venue and shop space, with custom made sound, stage, and lighting - was slated to open in March, literally the week that the world shut down. The Ep is struggling to stay afloat while we wait for life to return to normalcy, in hopes that the dream will be realized and the venue will be able to support and showcase artists, musicians, and dancers. Until that time, the space is grateful for the opportunity to showcase some truly incredible DJ friends -- virtually! Half of your donations will go to help keep The Epicenter around so that we'll have a place to boogie together - in person - as soon as safely possible.
