Sol’s puppies… positive parvo test … and then

Donation protected
Update: last night and into this morning, November 21 and 22nd, the blood ran from my face, and my heart sank deeper than I thought it could go. The puppies were sick, diarrhea that was almost like liquid, some of it had blood, and a couple of them puked  and were apparently on their last leg. I took the one who puked on me, and was in very bad shape to the vet, and she was diagnosed with a positive Parvo test. I could have died right there. I had done everything possible to keep them safe, but somehow they contracted parvovirus. I took Aurora from the vet and rushed her to emergency and the rest were at home… I believed they were all infected.  About midnight I had to take another puppy, Arran, to emergency because he crashed fast and was barely conscious. I sat thinking I might lose him, and I tried everything to comfort him, and just let him know he was loved. The emergency vet tested him for parvovirus, and it came back NEGATIVE!!! What?! He had blood oozing out of his butt and everywhere the sickly metallic smell crushed you. My whole house smelled that way, and I was sure I was going to lose 2 to 3 puppies or worse to parvo.  They started to treat Arran, and I asked them to test Aurora again. I just couldn’t believe it was negative. Sure enough, Aurora’s results came back negative. They still had to stay in the hospital overnight because of their precarious condition, but my worst fears were momentarily gone.  We are fighting intestinal parasites, instead, which is a 1000 times better.  This morning I had both puppies retested by someone else and both were negative!  Hallelujah!  I’m still out $3200 so far to save Aurora and Arran, send out fecal samples for testing to identify the insidious parasites trying to kill these miracles, ensure the test results, and start treating the other pups, and it’s not over yet, but I hope and pray that the worst is over.  Please pray for Aurora and her siblings, pray for mommy, and share this.  Please contribute whatever you can, even a dollar.  I’m putting everything I have and then some into these gorgeous babies, but fortunately prayers were answered and they now have a great prognosis.  I can breathe again, just not sleep… keeping a watchful eye on hydration levels and overall health while we wait for fecal test results.
