It is with the heaviest of hearts that we share the passing of our beloved son, Sol Martin Garcia, who left this world far too soon on July 9, 2025. At just 3 months old, Sol brought light, peace, and love into the lives of everyone who knew him. His spirit was pure, and to know Sol was to know light.

Sol was a fighter from the very moment he was placed in my womb up until his last breath. He stood the test of time and shown what Gods strength truly is. Throughout his life, all he ever knew was love. Despite the hole in our hearts, we smile. We smile because through Sol we met so many amazing people & developed life long friendships. God along with our village played a pivotal role in carrying us through this experience.

We are tremendously grateful to all of the UCLA NICU/PICU/ PEADS NURSES/DOCTORS for all of their support/knowledge/expertise during our stay.

We find peace in knowing that he is in a better place surrounded by so many amazing family/friends who have crossed over to the spiritual realm.

As our family grieves this unimaginable loss, we are also faced with the unexpected financial burden of funeral and burial expenses. We are humbly asking for support from our community, friends, and kind-hearted strangers to help us give Sol the loving and peaceful farewell he deserves.

Con el corazón más pesado compartimos el fallecimiento de nuestro amado hijo, Sol Martin Garcia, quien partió de este mundo demasiado pronto el 9 de julio de 2025. Con tan solo 3 meses de vida, Sol trajo luz, paz y amor a las vidas de todos los que lo conocieron. Su espíritu era puro, y conocer a Sol era como conocer la luz.

Sol fue un luchador desde el momento en que fue concebido hasta su último aliento. Soportó cada prueba con fuerza y nos mostró verdaderamente el poder de Dios. A lo largo de su corta pero poderosa vida, todo lo que conoció fue amor.

A pesar del vacío que sentimos en el corazón, sonreímos. Sonreímos porque, gracias a Sol, conocimos a personas maravillosas y formamos amistades para toda la vida. Dios, junto con nuestra comunidad, tuvo un papel fundamental en sostenernos durante esta experiencia.

Estamos profundamente agradecidos con todo el equipo del NICU, PICU y Pediatría de UCLA —enfermeras, doctores y personal— por su apoyo incondicional, su compasión y su experiencia durante nuestro tiempo juntos. Su dedicación hacia nuestro hijo nunca será olvidada.

Encontramos paz al saber que Sol ahora está en un lugar mejor, rodeado de tantos seres queridos que ya han cruzado al plano espiritual.

Mientras nuestra familia enfrenta esta pérdida inimaginable, también nos enfrentamos al peso inesperado de los gastos funerarios y del sepelio. Humildemente pedimos el apoyo de nuestra comunidad, amigos y personas de buen corazón para poder darle a Sol una despedida llena de amor y paz, como él se merece.
