Sol’s Heart Recovery & Expenses

Hi everyone my name is Sol Marie. I just want to start off to say thank you for taking the time to read my story.

As many of you know I’ve been struggling with my heart health since I was 20yrs old that came out of nowhere. On October 2019 I was diagnosed with Heart Valvular Disease which means my heart valve doesn’t fully close which causes blood to leak backwards into them. I had to have heart surgery the following month on November 19 , 2019 to repair my valve to reduce the amount of leakage that was causing me to go into heart failure.. A few months later I had a stroke on March 28, 2020 with a blood clot on the left side of my brain due to an abnormal heart rhythm called A-fib. During the blood clot removal they then implanted a loop recorder in my chest which records all of my heart arrhythmias.

On May 16, 2023 I had my regular 6 month follow up with my cardiologist where he checks my heart rhythms within the past 6months on my loop recorder where he told me I went into asystole for 3 seconds which means my heart stopped while I was asleep & I was going to in Bradycardia where my heart dropped in the 20/30bpm.. The following week on May 25th I got a leadless pacemaker implanted inside my heart which is a device that will help my heart beat if it stops again or if drops below 45bpm. However, during the pacemaker recovery I went into a dangerous arrhythmia called V-Tach due to my heart being irritated from the pacemaker placement. But after a few temp adjustments in medication & giving my heart some time to heal the arrhythmias went away. I was feeling great till recently I started to feel really strong palpitations through my chest & my neck that would come with a bad migraine & making me feel warm. So I spoke with my cardiologist October 3, 2023 where he checked my loop recorder & noticed my heart arrhythmias were in V-Tach again going up to the 200s with the highest being 219bpm which is early signs of cardiac arrest. There really isn’t a treatment to control these arrhythmias from coming again, but to make sure I will be safe when these episodes occur may need a defibrillator implanted which will shock my heart back into safe rhythm which is scheduled for next week along with another procedure.

This years has been taking so many unexpected turns for my health. With more doctor visits, hospital stays, surgeries & not being able to work doing what I love most has set me back tremendously. My husband & family have helped as much as they can but we now are struggling with this unexpected surgery with it being almost back to back. So we are in need of some help. Any amount that you are able to donate is greatly appreciated, even just $5 can go a long way. If you are unable to donate at this time, a simple share with your family & friends would mean so much to me.

Thank you

12/12/23 UPDATE : My cardiologist has been doing everything he can to avoid implanting the defibrillator. We have done 2 EP studys/ablations within the last 2 months which is to try to burn the nerve that is causing these rhythms but it has not been successful since my cardiologist hasn’t been able to induce it. We’ve tried medications but it’s not working for me & now we no choice but to implant a defibrillator in January.
