Solo Trip: Surviving the Odds (and the Elements)

Donation protected
Solo Trip was far from a solo effort--and we are nearly out of the woods for good!

This film is a playful yet deeply personal story about overcoming shame and loneliness and appreciating the love you're handed. It was cobbled together in the spirit of community, yet it tested the limits of what we all could survive on a low budget--mostly, the strength of our relationships, and of course, the belief in ourselves and our skillsets...oh yeah, and in the worthiness of our "art."

The irony of this endeavor is that I set out to prove we all needed each other, and learned how deeply unsupported we all can feel, no matter how wonderful our network or intentions. Looking back, I would have given anything to have a budget bigger than my meager bank account to make sure no one who gave the shirt off their backs to see this film succeed EVER had to struggle.

We all want to be seen, heard, appreciated. I asked for nothing going in to Solo Trip, and coming out, recouping some funds would be the icing on a dream! The dream has already been accomplished through the sheer donation of blood, sweat, tears, and grit, and by my crew surviving the literal elements--including cold, heat, wind, and some city-devastating fires.

Whatever you choose to donate to support our post and post-post processes, including the many months of "shopping" that we may endure to get this film seen, know that *your belief* in our artistic endeavor makes a difference most of all. And in one form or another, we can't wait for you to see our strange world through the foolhardy lens of Solo Trip.
