I’m a mom and cashier at Stop & Shop in Connecticut, represented by UFCW Local 371. Last week, during a night shift, I was indefinitely suspended without pay for criticizing ICE agents to a customer wearing a shirt intending to make himself seem like an agent. My manager denied my Weingarten rights to union representation, and are violating my right to engage in protected speech concerning public interest (extended to the private sector in CT).

Help me cover missed shifts during my suspension, so I can pay rent while management escalates and draws out this illegal suspension. I will be filing a grievance through my Local and organizing my coworkers on the shop floor around these labor issues, while engaging my community in the regional immigrant justice organizing/ICE rapid response.
