Hi if your reading this we feel the same! Whats happening in Gaza is a horror unfolding before our eyes. It can be difficult to talk about it, finding the right words while witnessing the ongoing dehumanisation of individuals and children - our fellow humans.
We are five sisters and cousins Helen, Sarah, Emer, Gráinne and Deirdre and prompted by the great work of the Irish Palestinian Solidarity Campaign we are organising a family friendly solidarity swim for Gaza @1pm Sunday 24th of August on Portmarnock beach.
It's an opportunity to be in community with each other, show solidarity with the people of Palestine, continue important conversations between us all and with our children. And raise vital funds for the work on the ground to alleviate famine and help people devastated by this brutal conflict.
All donations received will be split between the The Palestine Red Crescent Society (PRCS) and The International Committee of the Red Cross (ICRC) who have been on the ground in Gaza since the very beginning.
We gather at 1pm at 'The Shelters' (the changing area almost opposite The White Sands Hotel) on Portmarnock strand for a high tide dip. Join us. Bring friends bring family bring just yourself and bring love. Fundraise for us or make a donation. Every euro goes to these organisations doing vital work with communities every single day in Gaza.
Thank you!
In solidarity and appreciation
