I’m starting this fundraiser because I’ve seen the gap firsthand.
I’m currently living in a sober living home in Albuquerque, and I’ve watched people make it through detox, commit to recovery, and then struggle with things that have nothing to do with staying sober: running out of basic supplies, missing meals, not having what they need when they first move in.
That’s what Solid Ground Foundation is here to fix.
The Reality:
Sober living homes do critical work. They provide structure, accountability, and community for people in early recovery. But they operate on tight margins, and when basics run short—hygiene supplies, food, intake essentials—it creates unnecessary friction during the most fragile time in someone’s recovery.
What We’re Doing:
We’re building a supply and support system for sober living homes in Albuquerque. Right now, we’re partnering with two homes to pilot our first program: intake kits and monthly resupply.
Each person moving into recovery housing needs the same things on day one: toiletries, basic clothing items, cleaning supplies. And each house faces the same monthly shortfalls on food and essentials.
We’re solving that through direct delivery, tracked outcomes, and a system that removes guesswork.
Where We Are:
Solid Ground Foundation is currently awaiting our 501(c)(3) approval (we’ve filed our Articles of Incorporation and are in process with the IRS). That means donations aren’t tax-deductible yet, but it also means we’re being completely transparent about where we are and what we’re building.
Every dollar raised goes directly into:
∙ $75 = One intake kit (toiletries, essentials for someone’s first week)
∙ $250 = One house monthly resupply (food staples, household items)
∙ $1,000 = Crisis intervention support (emergency needs, unexpected gaps)
Why This Matters:
Recovery is hard enough. No one should lose their housing or fall back into old patterns because they couldn’t afford deodorant or because the house ran out of food mid-month.
The two homes I’ve connected with are grateful for the support—they just need someone to deliver on it. That’s what this fund will do.
Our Goal:
$8,000 will allow us to:
∙ Fully supply our two partner homes for the next 6 months
∙ Build a replicable system with documented costs and outcomes
∙ Prove this model works before scaling to more homes
Once we receive our 501(c)(3) status, donors who contributed during this phase will receive retroactive tax receipts.
If you’ve been affected by addiction—yours or someone else’s—you know how much the small things matter. This is us handling the small things so people can focus on staying alive and getting better.
Thank you for considering support.
