Sole's Room Caught on Fire

Hello, my name is Jerome and I'm starting this fundraiser to aid my roommate, Sole Castaneda. We're both young adults in our 20s who attend college and work full-time, and are both fully financially self-supporting.

While we were both at work, a fire started in Sole's room, igniting her bed and setting her room ablaze. The fire was put out before it got too much farther into the apartment; however, it has left considerable damage to the room and Sole lost much of her stuff. Along with the bed, most of Sole's plants died, much of her wall art damaged, and her clothes are completely tarnished. There is damage to the floors, windows, walls, and ceiling in her room as well. Our front and back doors have also been broken due to the firefighters having to get into the apartment.

We have submitted a claim with our renter's insurance, however we are still unsure how much they will be able to aid us with getting things fixed, replaced, etc.

This fundraising will aid Sole in rebuilding some of her belongings that have been lost, as well as fund both of us in paying for cleaning the smoke and soot left around the apartment, and any other out-of-pocket expenses. This will also contribute toward any medical expenses for our cat Zest, who was in the apartment while we were away. Physically Zest seems fine, but who knows what the vet will show us.
