Sole Support: Preventing Diabetic Amputations Together
Donation protected
Lower extremity amputations from diabetic foot ulcers is a crisis in Barbados:
Diabetic foot ulcers are causing a healthcare crisis in Barbados! Yearly, 1 in 100 persons with diabetes will have an amputation. This devastating statistic reflects a deeper issue: the lack of proper footwear to prevent these life-altering conditions.
We refuse to stand by while so many lives are impacted. That’s why I'm partnering with renowned podiatrist Dr. Simone McConnie and Save Our Soles Charitable Trust to tackle this crisis head-on. Together, we aim to provide high-quality, preventive footwear to individuals with diabetes—giving them a chance to live healthier, amputation-free lives.
Thanks to the incredible support of Samaritan’s Feet International, we have a unique opportunity to make this vision a reality. They’ve agreed to ship 6000-8000 pairs of these much-needed shoes to Barbados, but we need your help to raise $15,000 to fund shipment, storage fees, and distribution.
Your donation can save lives, prevent amputations, and reduce the overwhelming burden on families and healthcare systems. Every dollar brings us closer to ensuring that no one in Barbados faces such preventable suffering again.
Let’s step forward together and be the change these individuals desperately need. Please donate today and share this campaign to help us make a lasting impact.
