I am the mother of Spc Isaac Rodgers - USArmy pleading for emergency financial assistance for my son and his wife (Amaria) 3-grandchildren (Shane 10-yrs old, Melodie 8-yrs old and Ahzaria 2-yrs old. On December 22nd they were traveling home from Idaho (funeral services for Amaria's grandmother) when they were in a terrible automobile crash. Their car was totaled, and they were rushed to Univ. New Mexico Childrens hosptial (90-miles from the accident scene) after sustaining multiple injuries requiring additional medical treatment. Upon release from the hospital, they are now stranded at the Casa Esperanza Shelter without resources to get back to Ft. Hood, Killeen, Texas where Isaac is stationed. After contacting all military resources, they've been advised to apply for an AER (Army Emergency Release) loan. However, this will take time for approval (if qualified). Isaacs' leave ends on Thursday the 28th December.
They are in desparate need of immediate funds for airfare home. Once home, they will require dependable, affordable transportation (preferrably 6-passenger van) to go back and forth for additional medical care. Melodie has to be admitted for orthodontic surgery to repair the fracture to her face (seven front teeth are embedded in the roof of her gums), and, she is only able to eat liquids through a straw. Isaac has a concussion and continues to black out, trouble standing and walking after being pinned behind the dashboard. Shane continues to complain about chest and abdominal pain. Ahazaria also suffered a concussion with an ugly bruises, black eyes from head injury. Amaria has had several eplieptic seizures since the crash and is overwhelmed with caring for her family.
As a mother/mother-in-law, displaced worker with minimal income, am unable to financially assist as needed. I hope and prayer that God will provide through the help of those who read this and are able to help in anyway.
I am eternally grateful for the compassion and generosity of all who contribute to this cause. May God bless all who give, and those who pray for my beloved family during this time of pain and suffering.
