Solar Water well in Yemen for late Auntie Majidah

In this beautiful world are found even more beautiful people who live inconspicuously and are known to a few. They go about serving God’s creation with silent dignity and humility. These are the hidden giants who through their countless contributions of kindness, make this world a place worth living.

“And the servants of the Most Merciful are those who walk upon the earth with dignity, without arrogance,...” - (Al-Furqaan, 63).

A beautiful soul who would fit the description of these noble verses of the Qur’an was Mrs. Nacide Sefket, or Majidah as she was known fondly among the local community. She was one of those who spent her entire life serving God’s creation. A gentle soul with a warm smile and kind heart, she migrated to England from Cyprus in 1964, all by herself with four young children. Needless to say, life was tough for a single mother raising her children, yet Majidah persevered and raised her children in the best way she could afford.

With her pleasant and easygoing personality, Majidah made lots of friends across all ethnicities and was a valued member of the local community, particularly at Palmers Green Mosque. With her generous heart, she was always at the forefront extending help to those in need, and loved to feed people.

Unfortunately, Sr. Madijah caught COVID-19 and passed away .A silent lady, her presence has been missed ever since her demise by all those in the community. Since her passing away, a lot of people both in the UK and abroad have come forward to contribute towards charity for her.

As her friends, we would like to remember sr. Majidah’s selfless sacrifice throughout her life and donate a solar water well in her name in Yemen, as a source of Sadaqa Jaariyah for her. The Solar water well will provide necessary clean water for thousands of people in the most improvished parts of Yemen and will cost around £3000. It will be implented by Seven Spikes Relief as shown in the attached photos and video. We would be immensely grateful if you could please contribute towards this worthy cause for our dear friend and Aunty Majidah.
