My sister, Uzma is a brilliant mother of 3 with a degree in English literature. She’s lived in Lahore her whole life and her father was an important singer. Uzma and her musician family took care of me in 2011 when my father and I stayed with them for a month. Now I’m hoping my community will help them stay afloat.

Since the bombing in Iran, Pakistan’s energy supply has been low and the government is practicing even more load shedding than usual - a practice where the government shuts down energy in different areas to prevent the whole power grid from going down. When the power is out, Uzma’s family’s business cannot run. Just 5k USD can bring them and other local families stability. Hi everyone! This is Uzma Ayaz. My husband and I started a business at our home in the form of a very small stitching unit in December 2025. It was very difficult to find a working team but God helped us and after 6 months of hard work, we have 15 people with us.

But now it's summer season and due to the load shedding problem we aren't able to work consistently and meet our targets...

All these 15 people's earning depends on our stitching unit. They all have families to support. The only way we can get through this is by erecting solar panels so we can work even when the power goes out.
